This is a selection of 20 inspirational quotations used in my classroom to motivate and encourage my pupils. They are designed to be printed out, laminated and stuck around the walls as discussion starters or thought-provokers. I have deliberately kept backgrounds clear to save your printer ink and keep the focus on the quotes themselves.

Over the years I have taught many different groups, but one thing which I have noticed is that a ‘pithy’ saying or quotation can really help move their thinking on in some quite surprising ways.

These carefully selected quotes are the ones I used successfully for years with various children in Key Stages 2 and 3; I have also included details about their authors and some ideas to use them in the classroom. Laminate them and they are a fabulous resource that can be used year after year.
