The Fluency Project needs no introduction to visitors of this site. It is so helpful for children to have confident and  fluent recall of key information, to allow them to free up working memory in order to think mathematically.

Yet children are no different from adults: with information, if you don’t use it, you lose it.  Of course during 2020 and 2021 the opportunity to rehearse regularly in class was severely hampered. In my own school, we developed a five-prong attack to help tackle this. Because of the lack of ICT equipment in many homes, we felt it vital that the resources did NOT rely too heavily on the internet.
